I was a judge in the New Day Associates / Hype Hair model competition this past weekend in Newark, NJ.  On paper, may seem simple -sit on a panel of 8 judges and rate models based on “inner beauty”.  Turns out I’m a pretty lousy judge.  I think everyone has “inner beauty”.  The first part of the competition involved the models speaking to the judges and answering a few questions designed to give us some idea of the personality behind the face.  Several models cried as they recounted tales of hardship they’ve overcome and why this competition was important to them.  That made the judging even harder.  It’s hard not to give extra credit for crying 😉
