Banana Bungalow Hostel, Los Angeles #Leica

On my most recent trip to LA, I was traveling alone and I was there primarily to train at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu.  To keep expenses down I stayed at a hostel for the first time.  I was in a room with 5 other people and we had one bathroom to spare.  I felt like a Cub Scout.  I spent so little time in the hotel that it was a smart choice to stay at the hostel instead of a hotel.  You can’t beat $25 a night and free parking and free wifi. 

An added benefit of staying in a hostel is you get to meet (and maybe shoot) the occasional interesting character.  With the gentleman above, I was struck by the contrast of him playing under spotlights as if he were famous but doing so with no audience whatsover.  Some superstar…
